There are several natural forces at work when the Menikini system is used:

• Heat
Heat weakens the physical bond that adheres dirt and stains to surfaces. The Menikini technology produces superheated,culinary grade, saturated, dry steam vapor that is held at a temperature of approximately 185 °C degrees inside the system's heating chamber.

• Moisture
Nature's most perfect solvent. Menikini’s complete line converts water into 96% superheated dry steam vapor. How dry? Imagine taking eight minutes to pour out an 240 grams glass of water. That's how little moisture is in the dry steam vapor during normal use.

• Agitation
This is applied to the surface being cleaned using an array of Menikini’s unique, customized tools and attachments. No hard scrubbing is necessary. As dirt and stain particles are loosened from a surface, they are suspended in the moisture resulting from the vapor, making it easy to wipe away.

• Cotton
Water always flows in the direction of least resistance. Cotton towels offer less resistance, and are more absorbent, than almost any other type of material. Superheated dry steam vapor passed through a cotton towel makes the towel hot, but just slightly moist. The towel then "sucks up" everything that is suspended in the resulting moisture, and the dirt is embedded into the fibers of the towel.

This combination of forces works well on most surface types.

Steam cleaners are ideal for hard surfaces, such as sealed floors, tile and bathrooms. The machines also can be used on upholstery and to spot clean many carpets.

(Once notable exception: Natural fibers, like wool, which cannot handle high heat.) Steam cleaners generate temperatures of up to 185°C with pressure levels of up to 10 bar. The machines produce a "dry" vapor steam that contains as little as 5% water.

This makes the equipment ideal for sanitizing and killing mold, bacteria, and allergens. Steam cleaning is often, but not always, a chemical-free process.

Chemicals may effect food or be detrimental to the surface you are cleaning. All Menikini Systems allow you to clean, sanitize and deodorize at the same time while leaving behind no chemical residue. As stated by the Centers for Disease Control, “Microbes are killed by heat. If food is heated to an internal temperature above 78°C, for even a few seconds, this is sufficient to kill parasites, viruses or bacteria, except for the Clostridum bacteria, which produce a heat-resistant form called a spore”.

Heat, in the form of dry steam vapor, has long been used in medical environments (hospitals, dentists, etc.) to sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.

If the steam is over 100 degrees and under pressure, isn’t steam cleaning dangerous?
No. While the steam pressure at the nozzle tip is around 104 degrees, our units are design so that the steam temperature at about 6” away from the nozzle tip feels cool to the touch.
